My guidance towards labour

I am currently 36 weeks of pregnancy..and am a little nervous of what to expect for my first delivery. Well, what ever will be , will be..Insyaallah,  I have to keep my self calm and relax, tawakal and do lots of doa so that everything will be easy for me.

I went to Al- Islam hospital antenatal class last week, and the class was good. It opened up my eyes and add more knowledge and skills towards preparation to become parents. I was equipped with new knowledge and got to make new friends too!

Let's not go deep there, her I would like to share some info about what we should know during labour, and after labour esp. for a muslim mother-to-be like me.

First, is the breathing technique using hypnosis method during labour :

  1. Ibu jari menekan dahi (kedudukan antara dua kening).
  2. Pejam mata
  3. Tarik nafas melalui hidung
  4. Dalam hati membaca "Lailahaillahanta..."
  5. Hembus menggunakan mulut
  6.  Dalam hati membaca "Subhanakainikuntuminnalzolimin..."
*I have already simplified the writing for me to remember it easier.
Insyaallah I will apply this technique in labour room..

Here is another breathing technique from a different blogger

1. Masa kita rasa start nak sakit. ( awal-awal la )
Time ni kita tarik nafas dalam-dalam ikut hidung, then keluarkan nafas ikut mulut.
2. Then bila dah rasa kontraksi makin kerap and semakin sakit
Time tu cuba tarik nafas pendek and cepat then lepas. Pendek-pendek je. Tarik nafas pendek ikut mulut, lepas pun ikut mulut.
3. Bila rasa macam nak meneran tetapi belum tiba masanya lagi.
Time ni tarik nafas 2 kali terus ikut hidung, then keluarkan ikut mulut. Tarik nafas and hembuskan tu pendek-pendek je. Ala-ala ‘sniff’, ‘sniff’, ‘fuhhhh’. Bila takde rasa nak meneran, hembuskan nafas yang lembut and macam biasa.
Time meneran tu dua-dua tangan pegang pada buku lali then masa meneran tu, kita tengok perut kita masa angkat kepala dan dagu cecah dada. Ini untuk elakkan dari kita angkat punggung.
Secondly,

What we normally do not do after labour is to clean ourselves after labour which is also known as "Mandi Hadas". There are two types of  Mandi hadas which is Mandi Wiladah and Mandi Nifas

This is what I learned from the antenatal class last week:

1.Mandi Wiladah
-mandi disebabkan melahirkan anak. (due to the blood that come out from our body together with the baby) this applies also to miscarriage mothers and also C-sect delivery type.

Niat mandi :
"Sahaja aku mandi wajib wiladah kerana Allah Ta'ala"

2. Mandi Nifas (Post-natal bleeding)
- mandi disebabkan darah yang keluar selepas melahirkan anak. Normally it will take about 40-60 days after delivery of your baby.

However, there are three different types of situations :
